I haven't been to this forum in years. I've still been working as a church pianist. Of course, the virus scare has turned everyone's life upside down, and mine is no exception. The church hasn't been holding live services. Instead they've been doing streaming, and that means that I've had to pivot to recording again.

This Klavierstuck dates from 1828, but wasn't published for another 40 years afterwards when Brahms brought it forward for publication. In Schubert's hand, there is a second trio section, but he scratched it out by hand. Brahms restored it with an explanation that Schubert had removed it and as far as we know, did not want it published. I do not include this second trio, simply because my Mel Bay urtext didn't have it and I didn't know about this controversial 'extra' material until after I had already recorded the Klavierstuck. smile

Funny thing, a couple of days ago I was thinking "Haven't seen Jeffrey Jones on PW for a long time, I wonder how he's doing?" Sorry it's taken a pandemic to bring you back here, but it's great to hear (and watch) you play again. It's good to know that you are still gainfully employed as a musician. Thanks for sharing this excellent recording.
