It probably looks better in picture than it does in person, and there's a few air bubbles and wrinkles. What do you all think?

So beautiful! You gave me ideas about my DIY controller cabinet smile Any details about the process?

I really didn't know what I was doing but I bought this vinyl wrap on Amazon
for 10$ https://www.amazon.com/78-7x17-7-Wa...419726&sprefix=Wood+wrap&sr=8-84

Just avoid air bubbles, and the wood texture hides imperfections in direct lighting. I might re do the wrap with a hair dryer or something. My midi controller is a Studiologic Numa, it helps that it doesn't have any knobs but I did ended up wrapping the screen which I never use anyways.

Looks gorgeous! I was just thinking of vinyl wrapping my new digital piano because of my daughter, so not for looks but protection. Obviously one can do it for the looks too.. cool

A trick to avoid air bubbles, but obviously only where it's suitable, is to spray the back of the vinyl with a thin film of water.

Maybe not a good idea if you're doing anything electrical though, unless you can take the covers off ....

I'd be a far better pianist if I spent the time I'm on this forum playing my piano instead.

What was it before it became nice piece of furniture?

All these years playing and I still consider myself a novice.

Nice job. There was just someone asking about painting a digital piano a week ago. A number of people suggested doing a vinyl wrap instead.

I posted a picture because if you look up studiologic numa, there's many models.

Small bubbles that are formed by trapped air can be eliminated by making a pin hole to evacuate the air. Longer wrinkles can be dealt with by using a razor to create a slit to allow air to escape. If the wrinkle is so tall that the sides of the slit won’t lay flat, you might loosen the surrounding adhesive by dripping some alcohol or hair spray into the opening to free up the vinyl so you can massage the vinyl down flat.
Try it on some non critical area first to see how the materials interact before putting your piano at risk.
