Apparently Canadian rapper Drake owns a Bösendorfer! Inside the lid is artwork by Japanese pop artist Takashi Murakami. Who knew!

Oh don't be a stick in the mud! A Bösendorfer's a Bösendorfer. Although if they were picking Murakami to do the artwork, I wish they would have chosen some other of his work, maybe like this one:

Possibly not but he can afford it and that's what counts when buying a new custom Bösendorfer! I don't grudge him it but I wish I could buy one smile

+1

I just hope he keeps that piano tuned and nicely maintained, and if he doesn't play it himself, that he has someone in there playing it. I hate to see amazing instruments left ignored.

That's a VERY NICE piano indeed!

Clearly I went into the wrong profession.

He had to stop paying his heating bill to afford the piano. That's why he's wearing a parka and baklava indoors.

I feel that way a lot when I think about pianos I like!

Also, I wish I could find more info about this piano (maybe I'll google around some more), for example, I didn't notice it before, but it looks like maybe the black keys are not actually black. I would hate to play a piano like that, but I'd like to see better pictures nonetheless!

Me too !
I do not like skulls as a pattern, perhaps plants ,fern, ivy leaves ., Yet I see the art is quite something !

Of course the Bosendorfer is gorgeous!

It is almost unbelievable that someone lives around all that luxury !
I have never seen anything quite as amazing as the design of the
"furniture" in that house.

I know, me neither! So much wealth.

And to think he was just a normal middle class boy from Toronto who lived with his Jewish mother growing up. His black father wasn’t around much. I read he was re-writing song lyrics at the age of 5! Sometimes talent shows up early.

I watched a documentary about him when he was much younger, he already had a presence before all this fame.

It's a 280VC model with Disklavier. The owner (seems named Drake, who know, who care) don't have to know how to play it, though...

Lady Bird, I'm not fond of those skulls either, but it certainly is a "look." The artist is a really interesting contemporary artist, and he has several motifs that are quite famous. His flowers are my favorite though! This is one of the many iterations, very "pop" as it were.

Ok.

BTW check out this site, it's the designer who designed the home, this page is set up kind of in a "trippy" where if you move the mouse around, it is like clearing away smoke and you can see inside the piano, from the back/tail view. Kind of hard to explain, so take a look:

https://ferrisrafauli.com/furniture-collections/

(unfortunately, no info about the piano, no shot of the actual keyboard)

I love to see a musician earning enough through their talent to buy a Bösendorfer.

His dad played piano so it's not unimaginable he can play. Or, maybe he owns it so his dad can come over and play.

Clearly it's a 280VC. Look at the bass section. Only 280VC model has tricord bass strings. For Disklavier, look at the pedal lire, there's a box attached behind for control the pedals. And, the guy (what's his name, again?) seems dancing with the piano playing by itself (keys pressing down)
