Hi!

I'm looking into buying the Yamaha p515 DP.... but I need a foldable piano stand (I need to be able to store the piano in a closet when I won't be playing for a long period). Does such a stand exist?

Thanks!

Yes you can get an X-stand for it. I have one and it works really well.

Make sure it’s strong enough with double brackets.

Thank you so much! Used to play acoustic piano so fairly new to DP, your advice is very useful!

I'm using a K&M double X stand for my "max portability" rig that weighs the same as your P515. It wasn't cheap, but it's surprisingly stable for an X stand. If you have really long legs, you might bump into it, depending on how you sit.

I would favour a table stand (such as the K&M 18950/18953) over an X-stand. Such stands can also fold up relatively easily, and will occupy more or less the same amount of storage as an X-stand.

Kind regards,
James

this is the one I recently bought for my DP:

https://www.amazon.it/Deluxe-Tier-K...usic&qid=1586325175&sr=8-1-fkmr1

I find it to be very good and stable. Basically it's the same as the K&M for about half the price (or so...).

Of course it's foldable and the upper tier (an extra bonus one day you might need) can be removed.

I wouldn't buy an x-stand for a DP the size and weight of the P515... that would definitely be a wrong choice IMHO

Buy the posh looking but rather expensive Yamaha stand, then attatch the sides to the central portion not by the provided screws, but hinges which you get yourself, and fit.
The triple pedal unit, if bought, would require special attention. I would just use the provided switch pedal, or get a cheap variable one.

Or else, you can just break down the stand into its compnents, fixing it up again (with minimal screws) each time you move it . . .

It deserves to look better than paired with a Z stand, or an X stand.

Yes. I have two K&M table types. 18953 is my favourite. Smallish footprint. No banging knees. Look nicer than X stands and are more stable too.
