Hello everybody,

I know these are not perfect days, but I wanted to show you my arrangement for piano of the beautiful song "Perfect Day" from Lou Reed. During the Corona-crisis I now found the time to make a video and write a clean musical score.

I guess the piece is not really for beginners, there is a little bit of polyphony and some small ornaments going on, but then not everybody on this forum is a beginner.
I know there are one or two glitches in my performance, and hearing back myself I notice I could ease off of the pedal some more, but this is just a hobby and I am not a perfectionist.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IKYoVoQGRQg&feature=youtu.be

You can download the score here:
https://drive.google.com/open?id=1M0eXX3KnSGRbzHKW2Gnd5xlMP25Xs_rn

I am planning to do some more songs, I am working on:
Save me - Aimee Mann
Wish you were here - Pink Floyd
My baby just cares for me - Nina Simone
The rainbow connection - Kermit the frog ;-)

Tell me how you like it, also suggestions on the arrangement are welcome.

Stay safe!

I enjoyed this. “Wish You Were Here” is on my want to learn list so I hope you post that. Nicely done.

I had the misfortune to play a recording of this tune at a funeral; it was the only tune I had left, unplayed, for the last funeral of the day.
Nobody had told me when it was to be played, or for whom, so I just assumed . . . .
I was wrong. frown

Very nice arrangement, very nicely played! However, you seem to be a flying German rather than a flying Dutchman?

Playing the piano is learning to create, playfully and deeply seriously, our own music in the world.

Dutchman living in Germany. Not flying (my paraglider) but grounded at the moment. The company where I work is closed for the whole of April, so I'm having a lot of time on my hands.

(For those who wonder what this is about and want to know, have a look at the score 🤗)

I see! Sounds like a great job, to be a paraglider. I hope you can manage the unemployment and all its consequences.

Sorry to destroy an illusion, but paragliding is just my hobby, as is playing the piano. I work as a software engineer.

I started playing the piano when I was 40, which is now 15 years ago. So in a sense I am an adult beginner.
