You'll never get those 2 hours back again, and these days, life is precious. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

According to wikipedia, the director spent 25 years writing the screenplay. Oh and it won some awards.

I generally stay away from musician biographical dramas. For some reason it always makes me cringe to see my favourite composers and musicians as caricatures. It just hurts me too much. I didn't like how they portrayed Mozart in Amadeus. Viewed some clips of a Paganini movie and didn't like it either.

Watch instead Django Unchained - worth it just for the Fur Elise scene, priceless

It's SO bad, I can't imagine how it won anything, and this was 2002, I believe! The music would have been great if they had tuned their pianos! The acting was hideous! 😱😱😱

If it was worse than Impromptu where Hugh Grant plays Chopin, I will put it on My Never List.

Asks the violist: "what was that piece you played that started with the really long, fast, trill?"

You are lucky not to have heard of it, but even luckier not to have seen it. Not counting a few IMAX special presentations, "Impromptu" was the last movie I ever paid to see in a movie theatre. Words cannot describe how bad it is!

I saw part of the Hugh Grant one when I had a fever. The next day I thought maybe I had hallucinated it.

For those who would like to relive a few minutes of Impromptu. I forgot what a great cast it was. Who was the intruder and why is George Sand hiding beneath Chopin’s piano in his private chamber?

Looks like the movie poster is the best part of this cinematographic work.

Yes it didn’t seem to make sense at all. What was with the smashed vase and how did it relate to George Sand hiding under the piano? The whole scene seems awkward and poorly acted.

Another music-related movie that I thought was just godawful was "Immortal Beloved". The premise of the movie was speculation on who Beethoven's "immortal beloved" might have been, but the writing and acting were so bad in spots that it was unintentionally hilarious. I still remember a scene towards the end where Beethoven has shoulder length white hair on his deathbed -- the man was only 57 when he died, for Pete's sake!

When the script is that bad, you can't really blame the actors. Blame their agents for allowing them to participate in the project.

Ive seen it, another one to avoid is "Song to Remember" from 1945. Still - coughing red blood on white keys, I can see why they insist on making these biopics.
The only movie about music and musicians Ive seen that is actually worth watching is "5 easy pieces (1970)".
