With this corona virus happening and everyone being stuck inside, it gives me and everyone here more time to practice our piano. I’m a lover of classical music and ragtime so I’m thinking of buying a few more books to add to my collection.

I already have Beethoven sonatas bagatelles, Bach inventions, french suites, Chopin complete works, Debussy, Mozart sonatas, Schubert impromptus, moment musicaux, sonatas, dances, Scott Joplin complete piano works, Joseph lamb and other ragtime books.

I’m actually working on a few Joplin rags at the moment! Your suggestions would be great and please tell me what you’re currently working on!

The book is Complete Rags for Piano, by William Bolcom, and is published by Hal Leonard.

The main issue of this book - it does not have accompanying audio, so I would expect a lot of experimentation and search for audio/video online.

It is far above my piano level, but I tried Indian melodies on guitar in the past - it was a lot of fun!

Any book you plan to buy you're more like going to get it online through Ebay or Amazon. Lucky if the music stores are open. Besides a few pharmacies & supermarkets, these are considered non-essential services in my area.

There is a lot of Classical music you can download through IMSLP.org already.

I always like to advocate for my favorite composer, Edward MacDowell, as he's considerably underplayed these days. I'd look into the Hexentanz "Witches Dance" (Op. 17 No. 2) for starters, a great encore piece. Leopold Godowsky played it as an encore on multiple occasions in 1926.

I believe Kalmus still has an edition for the Hexentanz on Amazon available.

Also, some publishers now sell even their older books as pdf.
ebook is also a good option, can be converted to PDF and printed if needed.
These days I prefer to buy digital books if available - it is much easiler to print than to scan at home.
