Strange that no-one has opened the bar yet...may I open it with some Bach I've been learning?
Nice job! I'm currently reading a biography of Bach, but I'm not very familiar with the chorales, so this is helpful and the melody sounds familiar to me.
I also wanted to submit my cover of the Beach Boys, "Fun, Fun, Fun" (written by Brian Wilson and Mike Love). This is my first recorded cover of a rock/pop song from a lead sheet, so I welcome any constructive feedback.
Larry – Bach Chorale Very nice. Bach is not always difficult. I think this tune has become a church hymn, I just cannot recall the lyric…
Jason – Fun, Fun, Fun I am a big Beach Boys fan and your rendition is just fantastic. It put me in a good mood. You are using the potential of a piano in a very effective manner.
My contribution is the theme from the 1960s Miss Marple movies, composed by Ron Goodwin. I am playing the silent system of my piano with the harpsichord sound from sheet music by Mercuzio, and internet pianist who wrote a large collection of free piano transcriptions.

My piece is Woody'n You, a well-known bebop tune composed by Dizzy Gillespie in the 1940s. I am playing with a backing track. While I was learning to play this tune, I was simultaneously watching a long TV series called Winds of War/War and Remembrance. The series has powerful theme music which got under my skin and played in the background in my mind from time to time, when I wasn't thinking about Woody'n You. What a surreal moment it was when I suddenly realized one day that both pieces have the same harmonic structure! Small world, music!!
Ed - Woody'n You / Wouldn't You Some wonderful jazz, again. I was just wondering which Woody Gillespie was referring to and learned from Wikipedia that he wrote this number for the Woody Herman Big Band that did not use it at that time.

Well, uhm..... let me just say that I have always been skeptical of the official explanation because..... I know what kind of sense of humor Dizzy had. 'Nuff said.
And for something different, a piece I learned by the Rolling Stones.
Larry. Really great job! I'm impressed how well you handled the syncopation in the melody. I think Paint It Black is a one of those rock songs that is very amenable to piano. Just curious...did you learn this from sheet music or by ear?
I've realised I've made little progress with the Nocturne recently with a considerable amount of practise, so I've decided this is it, I'm bouncing against the limits of my current skill level. One painful mistake to hear and various rough patches but as an overall fee itl is not too bad.

Purely by ear. Well from memory. The song came into my head and I just started playing it.
