Anybody know what type of felt to use to replace this small felt that the damper wire rides on? I'm thinking of just buying some thin white felt at the crafts store and cutting out a piece.

Spring punchings. Keep in mind that there is really no reason to replace them. It is not like there would be much friction from them, nor that the friction would make any difference. It is more important to replace the springs on older pianos.

(People around here spend an awful lot of energy fretting about trifles!)

Thanks. I'm not planning on replacing the ones that are there, it's just that some are missing. I may fashion some out of leftover felt since they don't seem to be that critical. Nice to know they actually make replacements though.
