Hi everyone, I am considering between Yamaha Yarius YDP-S52 (around $800-$850) or Casio CDP 200R around $300. Could you please suggest a better choice between these two options? Both are in great condition. Thanks very much

Yamaha.

There's now a YDP-S54 and there was a 53 before that, so maybe check the price for a new 54 and if the asking price of the old 52 is even close to that then kindly remind the seller that it's a used item and an old model already.

The CDP-200R is also a few model generations old and nothing spectacular technology wise.

Love4Music, these two instruments are very different, both in terms of form factor/appearance and functionality.

May I ask why you are interested in these two instruments specifically?
What are you actual needs?

Kind regards,
James

The S54 is around $1600, the S52 is still around 1500, not much lower, i am surprised.

I just plan to buy mainly for my kids and my practice late at night, I have an acoustic one to play mainly. These are in my mind now as they are best available in term of price and quality smile

Are you seeking a portable instrument (hence the Casio) or something with a stand (hence the Yamaha)?
Are the instruments that you are considering second-hand or brand new?

Kind regards,
James

It doesnt really matter if its portable or not. I just had them in mind as I said. These are used but in like new condition. I have bought the Casio few hours ago and wanted to buy the Yamaha too to try them both but I was just tightly outbid on the Yamaha on those last seconds, a bit subjective :)), its sold for nearly $850. I am playing around with the Casio CDP 200R which is not that great in terms of sound and speakers, the weighted keys are light, not anywherre near real acoustic one smile. I will keep looking out for a similar Yamaha. Thanks very much for your support anyway. Cheers
