I'm getting my taxes this week, and I'm wondering what piano to buy, the Arius 164 or P515.
My question is, what the mayor difference between them. The P515 is more expensive but just slightly. Is it worth that expense?
*Side note. I read that the P515 is not as loud as 164, is that true?
Thank you for any help, it will mean a lot.
I recommend that you ask this question in the "Digital Pianos Electric Pianos and Synths forum" (http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthre...-electronic-pianos-synths-keyboards.html
). I almost bought an Arius about two years ago - decided on a Casio instead, but felt the need to upgrade to something much better within 6 weeks. It is a furniture piano. The P515 is a portable piano (although you can buy for an additional sum a stand to put it on that makes it look more like a furniture piano, although I don't think it has a closeable lid). Here in the UK it is about 1/3 again more expensive than the YDP-164 without the furniture stand.
the P515 is more oriented towards the stage - where you would typically plug it in to a PA system, however looking at the Yamaha specs it has 2 x (15W + 5W) and the YDP 164 has 2 x 20W - so no difference. The P515 has a better action than the YDP-164
The advice everyone always gives to this sort of question is for you to go and try them and to chose the one you are most happy with. Only you can tell which you like the sound and feel of the most.
