This law says: if a musician places a glass with a drink in the area of his activity during a gig, there is a probability of 88 to 97 percent that the glass will tip over in one way or another. Today I again came across a visual demonstration of this law twice with an interval of 10 minutes.
At lunch time I had a rehearsal of my workshop in the rehearsal studio, where it is necessary to climb the stairs. Before that I bought a glass of coffee, in addition, I had a shoulder bag in my hands, a folder with notes and a melodica Hammond-44 on my shoulder. Approaching the studio door, I slipped on the step, the coffee and the folder fell to the floor, and I followed them. The cap of a disposable coffee glass, of course, flew off, and all the coffee spilled out on musical scores.
But that wasn’t all ! All the participants entered the studio except the drummer, who was a few minutes late. He entered, holding in his hand a glass of coffee, exactly the same like I had dropped a few minutes ago.
-“Hey, don’t put the glass near drumset, it will certainly tip over!”
