I am documenting my progress, recitals and experiences of learning how to play the piano as an adult on my YouTube channel. https://www.youtube.com/PeterHontaru

First Beethoven piece I've played and it really was a struggle at first. Ended up deciding to put a second week into it and it all fell into place. Tempted to polish it a little further and get a recording.

1. Prelude in C Major from Well-Tempered Clavier Volume 1. This is actually the piece that I submitted for the January Preludes Recital. 2. Celestial Cloud by Rick Roberston - the first piece from his Kaleidoscope Volume 2. This piece is composed in the style of minimalism, and I am planning to share it for the February recital 3. La Candor by Burgumuler. I originally planned to play this one for the February recital, and it was my first piece by Burgumuler, but for some reason, it is not speaking to me. 4. BWV 227 - a piece from progressive sight reading exercises.

Burgmüller, Op. 100 nr. 17 (Babillarde) (hearthis.at) 5. B. Arens, Prelude I (From "21 Amazingly Easy Pieces") (hearthis.at)
Loved your last recording and loved the grand piano sound. I have to agree that the tone is richer and it allows to better control of dynamics, but your recording on upright is lovely too. It shows that you really know your instrument. Thank you for reminding about this piece of music too, I went and got sheet music right away. Would you mind sharing whose transcription did you get?
Have "finished" Elton John - Your Song but would like to record it on a grand this weekend hopefully! Might use it as my recital piece too

Thank you very much! I think that transcription is part of this collection:
The PianoLIT channel was kind enough to take a picture of the sheet music and send me. I did some minor image processing and converted to a PDF. If you want I will be happy to share it with you, just send me a PM.
YouTube Channel with all my recordings and my piano progress.
Here is my fifth piece. It is another one that has been on my to do list for a couple of years. I have heard it played powerfully, and also soft and expressively. I prefer the latter. It is a fun piece!

Hi, I will give this a bash. Started playing again after 20-something-year break. Very rusty but list so far: 1. J. S. Bach, Prelude in C Major,BWV 846 2. J.Burgmuller, Ballade, OP. 100, No. 15 3. Beethoven, Menuet in G Major, WoO 10, No.2 4. D. Zipoli, Fughetta
I'm in. I do not have 30 pieces in my repertoire so far - after +3 years, but who knows... The participants are a model to me. Some of them have an astonishing memory - I followed last year facdo's challenge with Burgmüller - and some of them very beautiful performances and amazing pianos. I am going to focus on number - 40 is a huge number - and lower the difficulty of the chosen pieces. Otherwise, it would be impossible for me.
