Hello everyone - I have been doing compositions on my Roland Fp-90 for few years on and off recording using iPhone mic.
The roland piano app has a bluetooth midi connection which worked well for doing things through the app.
what I need clarification is more technical perhaps.

I have garageband, igrand piano etc and love the virtual sounding instruments on those through the iPad. when I connect using my iPad and roland through bluetooth, I do see it connected via midi and shows omni channel as the midi in settings. I can play my keys on keyboard and it plays only my keyboard sound. I do see the keys on the virtual iPad instrument moving as I press each key on the roland but cannot hear the virtual piano sound. I rather listen to the output of on my piano speaker from the iPad from the virtual instrument. I have not dabbled in midi much so sorry if I sound confused. Not sure maybe I need a flow chart and maybe an IRIG? or maybe usb to lightening cable for iPad to connect keyboard to iPad?

in the end, all i want is to play my keyboard and be able to listen to the virtual instrument on the iPad ,come through my roland speaker and not have the roland piano sound come through.

As for the last part (not having the Roland sound coming through the speakers), you will want to set "Local Control" for midi to "Off" (page 20 in your manual).

You have midi working. So, once you have local control off, plug the headphone out from the iPad into the line in of the DP. The cable will depend on sockets available. I assume the iPad has a headphone out?
