That’s a very impressive list of music indeed lady bird you are playing. I Am playing Clare De. Lune and Reviere by Debussy right now. I recently acquired a Liszt Consulations and Liebestraume Schiremers library. I want to learn Liebestraume. Looking forward to seeing your piano in the future.

Congratulations Astropiano, your Blüthner is beautiful - as is your room.

Here is a picture of my Blüthner (dating from 1881):

David G also a wonderful piano like Astropiano .Its interesting ,one from 1881 and Astropiano brand new .I would love to hear each one
played played side by side .
Apparently modern pianos have more of a plush tone .I suppose your
piano DavidG has been rebuilt so it would sound a bit 19th and 20th
century ?
Both you and Astropiano all I can say wonderful !!!

Thanks Lady B. Actually although my Blüthner has had some work done, I would not say it has been rebuilt. New strings, new hammer felts and new pins. The soundboard and the pinblock are the original. It sounds different from modern pianos, because it dates from an era when it was deemed an asset for the bass and treble to sound different in tone quality.

That's very interesting. So it is a period insrument .I suppose playing
Brahms and Schumann on it would be really interesting .I suppose even Chopin who I think died in 1849 .Although I think it no doubt has a different sound or
tone to what Chopin would have enjoyed ?I think he liked Pleyel ,perhaps not as powerful .I am not sure of this so correct me if I am
wrong .Yet what would Chopin say about our modern pianos?

I just noticed all these new posts by David G. Incredible piano you have. I would love to hear it play someday in person. But alas if wishes were horses beggars would ride. Play it well and stay thirsty for Bluthner. cheers!

What a beautiful piano, but also it is such an inspiring and artistic looking room with those windows and the tapestry.
