Ok, ok, ok ! I’ll begin again, only I know I’m going to be away a lot already. It will be a good way to actually log my piano days. Right now I need and excuse of this trip Jan 4th through Jan 10th while I’m down in Costa Rica. Thanks for keeping us going SwissMs!

Palmpirate - Welcome back! I will add you to the list. We have a few others that travel a lot as well, and I think MOYD does help them keep track of number of days played.

Please add me to the list. I need to add my icon for the year. Like many others, the daily habit is encouraged by this fun sign up commitment. Now, morning practice is like drinking coffee...a necessity.

Updating my banner is not working for me. When I get to my signature I don't find anywhere to click on "enter an image". Seems I had this trouble last year but I don't remember how I solved it.

I am puzzled about the use of the icons. Do you only add the icon when you get to the end of the year? Is that why there is no 2020 icon yet?

Very first post. New member, long time lurker.
I just cannot say how appreciated this site, and all the wonderful advices I got from it.
Since I'm just a new piano player, I do not feel my (non existent) experience could be of any help to anybody. But I'm sure that with time, determination, patience, and many many hours of practice I'll give back to the community what I've received.

Hi WiseBuff - To add the icon, go to "edit profile". The final box is signature. I don't see an image inserter on this box anymore. So, you need to right click the appropriate icon, copy image address, and paste into the signature. Then add after. That should do the trick!
akc42- You add the siggie at the end of the year to show that you actually completed the year of playing.

This has been awesome for me already.
Due to numerous health issues, last year I rarely played two days in a row.
Since signing up, I haven’t missed a day ( ok it’s only been about a week), no matter how bad I feel, I’m getting on the piano every day, thinking “ if I play for two mins, it’s better than nothing”, in reality the shortest time I’ve played is 10 mins, I think come the end of the year my piano playing would have increased ten fold.

I'm in again for 2020. After a year & a half without a teacher, I'm back to regular lessons & regular practicing.

Ojustaboo - I am glad MOYD is working for you! I have similar issues, and sometimes MOYD is all that gets me to the piano, then I feel better!

I missed a day Friday. Wasn’t well most the day, had planned on getting in 5 mins before bed, was so tired, completely forgot, woke up Saturday and first thing I thought was “nooo, I didn’t play yesterday”, and went straight on the piano for a much longer than usual practice to make myself feel better.

Twenty-five days in plus the last eleven days of 2019. One of my longest streaks of daily practice. I am the MO my own D.
But....I feel like I am in a MOYD slump. I've been getting in a few 11:45pm days lately just to keep the streak going. Or just played one song. But not going to succeed by having too many five minute days.
Help!

Ojustaboo - These days happen to all of us. I will put you back on the wagon Jan 19.
Josh1770 - Slumps do happen, when motivation seems low. What I do when that occurs is one of two things. I either start a new piece that I am excited about, or I just make a dedicated time of day to sit down and just play pieces I know and love. That usually gets me out of my slump and gets me excited about piano again. Then I am ready to to go back to the hard work. Best of luck!

Please excuse moi for January 24-th and 25-th. I had a flu shot, and my arm was really sore so I couldn't play for two days.

I just got a free used piano on January 12th, and I've been practicing every day since I picked up the Alfred All-In-One book the following day. Usually about an hour to an hour and a half.
I'm 36 years old, and I've done a lot of singing, but never really touched the piano except plunking a few notes out here and there. I'm really enjoying the steady progress I've experienced so far, and I'm planning to make this a lifetime journey.

This will be my third consecutive year engaging in this practice, I think I signed up two years back but fell off monitoring these forums. Finding myself at a bit of plateau and need to 'get back on the wagon' with some loftier goals. Count me in. Ryan
