The piano is currently in their store, until it can be delivered to my new home in Croatia in the new year. So the other day, a couple came to the store to look at different pianos. They'd narrowed it down to two, and then asked what that black August Förster sounds like. The dealer sat down and played a bit, and they immediately decided they no longer liked either of the previous two pianos and were going to save a little more until they can afford a Förster too grin Looks like my piano has got a job as a sales assistant!

Christmas is definitely going to happen in January this year 3hearts

P.S. LadyBird, sorry I overlooked your question before: I'm going with the "satin" finish. I've always preferred the shiny polished look on concert grands, but don't really like it on uprights.

How fun!!!

What a lovely story. All my best wishes for you! Both for your new home and your new piano. I can't help feeling happy with you. You really spread sunshine around you. And as you might know - those that do are the greatest people on earth!

Stay well in Croatia and enjoy your lovely Förster!!!

Lovely story indeed. I’m eagerly awaiting the pictures. Christmas in January. There are folks who celebrate Christmas 12 days after December 25th so that makes Christmas in January a real thing. How wonderful for you.

Thank you so much, everyone smile It's so lovely to have a place where I can share all that joy and excitement, and where people will actually get it!

I've arranged with the dealer that the piano will be delivered on the 4th of January, weather permitting. I just hope there won't be a sudden snowstorm in the Alps! Counting the days at this stage.

I'll keep ye updated! In the meantime, I hope you're all having a lovely holiday, whatever you may be celebrating, and good times with your loved ones 3hearts

Thank you all smile

Today I'm happy - ok, delirious - to announce: It's heeeeeere!! And it's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen 3hearts It feels like heaven, and sounds like it too. It also allows for so much differenciation that my lack of technique these days is painfully obvious - lots of practice ahead!

Gorgeous Sibylle! I know this is your dream come true. And is that some books that they gifted you with the piano, that I see? smile

Thank you, folks! It really is a dream, I spend a lot of time just sitting here and grinning at my piano, and tomorrow morning I'll run out to the living room to see if it's really there. Lol.

No, I just moved to Croatia! It was the reason why I bought this now (check out the original post or two in this thread) smile

How amazing and cool! We’ll need a video soon, and some pics of the new place in Croatia! Don’t forget to start a thread in the my new piano section with a recap. Congrats, Sib, you deserve it!
