Hamlin pianos?
B=5'4". A=5'8.5", AA=6'4", BB=6'11.5", CC=9'4"
I don't see much logical explanation for the lettering system used.

I can see a bit of logic with the AA, BB, and CC but the smaller piano names throw it all off. Perhaps they were trying to copy Steinway.

I like the models in letters and the serials in numbers. Maybe Steinway was copying M&H. Or Mr. Chickering.

Maybe the original model names were inconsistent back in the day, and they just left them that way?

Were AA, BB, and CC first, and the other models came afterward? That was my guess. It seems possible since some makers(Steinway, for example)began their grand production with the larger models.
