Here they are, by popular request. OK, by request of Lady Bird. But hopefully some others will like to see them also.

My 192 arrived this afternoon and replaced my W.Hoffmann in the music room. Here are a few shots:

I don't know what is, though - does anyone else? It looks like you'd drape it over the piano or something, but where? It's not as long as the piano is wide.

Working on:
Beethoven - Piano Sonata No. 15 in D major, Op. 28 ("Pastoral") First two movements; Piano Sonata No. 21 in C major, Op. 53 ("Waldstein") First movement
Schumann/Liszt - Widmung

Congrats on the beautiful piano.
About that blue cloth..isn’t that the cloth you drape over the keys when not in use?

So very happy for you! Thanks for sharing your piano search story and the stupendous result. You now have one of the world's great pianos. Congratulations.

BTW, the blue cloth looks like a key cover to me. I'm not sure why they are necessary as one can always just close the fall board. Maybe it's just an additional bit of elegance on a most elegant instrument.

I don't know for certain but I'm guessing being called the "B-192" it's 192cm, which in old money is 75.5 inches or 6ft 3.5 inches.

Thanks for sharing the pictures, it's beautiful. The blue felt cloth goes over the keys when not in use. My piano came with one too but I never use it, closing the fallboard is adequate dust protection for me.

Did it arrive with the regulation that you discussed with the technician at the factory? Is it as good as you hoped it would be?

It's black, it has 88 keys, sound comes out when you press them. Same as mine! smirk

Very nice Hound. As you know by now, the blue felt is the key cover. I use it on my digital piano since it has no fallboard, so they're quite handy!

Congratulations, your music room is beautiful.

SMA55 has a Steingraeber D232. He has recordings of it in some of his recent submissions in the ABF recitals, its sounds amazing.

Thank you for the very kind comments, everyone. Of course it's the key cover - how daft of me. Been a while since I've seen one. Took a couple of extra shots with it just for fun, and also because the first ones have such an obnoxious amount of light in them. I doubt I'll be using mine much either - it will likely live in that box I imagine.

Yes - I absolutely love it. A couple of strings need a tiny bit of attention, probably due to the double journey. But the sound is dark, warm, yet clear and sonorous if called for. The action is as crisp as anything - it feels so beautiful to play.

I couldn't resist even after the kids had gone to bed (and slept in the same room at their request, which means blatant not-getting-to-sleep-as-early-as-they-should). Quiet night time playing with the music desk closed up, testing the una corda, playing some gentle Brahms... absolute heaven. They came down, obviously. A soft toy had ripped and was spilling stuff. They were hungry. I put the toy in the kitchen, gave them bananas and sent them back to bed. Then I played for another 10 minutes because - bloody heck, how could I not. And the kids are on their Winter holidays now anyway. I will probably have another tinkle on it a little later, maybe to show my wife when she eventually gets home from work.
