The forums were updated this afternoon.

I will post about the new features when I get a chance.
Right now I'm between the house I sold and the one I bought.
My computers are all in boxes, and my muscles are all sore.

If you experience any issues please let me know.

The forums should be faster now.

To all our U.S. members...
Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll post more when I get back up and running in the new house.

I’m seeing an issue with apostrophes in posts rendering as a euro symbol plus the little TM trademark symbol. On mobile Safari on an iphone.

Yep, I’m seeing the same issue that scirocco mentioned, involving an occasional apostrophe here and there.

Many characters from Unicode 12.0 or even earlier versions can no longer can be inserted in posts, as they were able to be even yesterday before the update. When they are, it causes a database error.

For example, I tried to insert the "yawning face" emoji right here and now I get the immediate error message:
Quote
Database error only visible to forum administrators

I too am having issues with emojis turning into jibberish. But I’m not getting the error message.

I'm having major issues with this website today. The lengthy post I made last night about my new Presonus studio monitors completely vanished, and when I went to post it again... it vanished again. Next time I checked in, both posts were visible, then a moment later they were gone again. Yikes!

Re: UNICODE emoji's

I went back to earlier posts made before yesterday. Where, UNICODE emoji's had already been used in posts, they have now turned into strange characters. For example, the UNICODE emoji for eek which displayed correctly on the forum yesterday, has today turned into: ðŸ˜

Ditto all the above. Characters with diacritical markings (like ö) are transformed into garbled characters. See signature below where the ö is transformed into ö.

I think this just confirms that all UNICODE characters, whether they are special characters, diacritical marked characters, foreign characters, or emojis, are just not working properly.

I did not realise that this thread existed whe I posted a new thread today about garbled character. To add to this thread I can say that when I post in Windows 10 using ctrl +0252 I get a garbled character but if on Android I use the "hold key down and select umlaut u the character posted here is correct. Does this help identify the problem?

I want to post a reply to the thread
http://forum.pianoworld.com/ubbthreads.php/topics/2917487/re-getting-a-passage-up-to-tempo.html
but for several days I've been unable to do it because of persistent database error
"Database error only visible to forum administrators"
I didn't use any non-standard characters in my reply.

Btw, it's not just posts. I noticed that the location in my profile was also corrupted, so I tried to update it and got the DB error visible only to administrators too. Updates w/o extended characters work fine.

In case you need another ditto, it seems like all non alpha numeric characters are susceptible to garbling.

Yes, that does seem to be the case.

But I like the random appearance of vowels with diacritics as well as the Euro symbol and the Pound Sterling symbol!

Perhaps your success relates to which country you reside? My keyboard is a UK type so to use diacritical markings I have to use Ctrl key plus the extended ASCII character number. Are you using a keyboard that already has diacritical marked characters? I hope Frank is reading this thread.
