Here's yesterday's Record Review from BBC Radio 3, where the latter part is entirely on the piano:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m000bgzz (starting from 1:47:00)

Trifonov's Rach 1 & 3, Prokofiev sonatas, then two Alkan recordings, one by a Schiff pupil (did András ever play Alkan?) and the other by a lawyer who sometimes plays the piano when he has the time to practice (which I posted in a recent thread).

Some interesting observations.......even if you don't agree with the reviewers whistle.

"I don't play accurately - anyone can play accurately - but I play with wonderful expression. As far as the piano is concerned, sentiment is my forte. I keep science for Life."

Went to listen and the BBC wants me to register.

Registration is free, and you don't even need a TV licence.

And you don't need to register again in future - just save your details in your computer, and you'll have access to lots of goodies like live concerts and educational stuff (Music Matters etc):

For example, two recent live piano recitals in London, one based on birds & grounds wink , the other more conventional:

For a moment, I thought you meant Trifonov had played Alkan, and I thought I was hallucinating.

Thanks for the links. From the Macgregor recital I’ve discovered Janacek :-)
