I have a p-515 and was wondering if it is possible to record video from an iPhone and have the audio from the piano go directly to the iPhone. Reason being I want to capture some practice sessions at night but I don’t want to wake up the family. I prefer to record to iPhone since it will be easier to upload to various sites. Thanks.

It would depend on which iPhone you have (some work via a 4 pin headphone jack, which in itself would accommodate the mic on the included headphones)... but some have only a lightning port.

Regardless, this would provide some initial insight into what’s possible:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsHJicvs6fk

There are three parts on display in that video:
1- The mic - which could be replaced with a 3.5mm line out from your DP.
2- The lightning to 3.5mm adaptor which you might need (depending on your phone model)
3- The 4 pin to 3 pin adaptor.

Let us know how you get on. smile

Learning to play. Consciously incompetent, which apparently is a good starting point. smirk

I'm no expert but please consider the following
1. Line input could overload or damage your iPhone. Line input is at a much higher level than microhone input.
2. Recording will only be in mono via the mic/headphone input.
3. Consider using an audio interface like a Steinberg UR22 Mk11 dia digital connection. You can then record stereo and there is no danger of overload.
4. Many professionals prefer to record the sound separate to the video and sync it later on PC( but probably not practical on an iPhone).

The analog "line-output" from the piano is not suitable for connection to a microphone input.
But you could use a "pad" to reduce the amplitude of the piano line-output to suit the microphone input of the phone.
You could buy a pad ... expensive.
Or you could make one ... for under $10.
