There is a classical piece that has a melody that reminded me of a rather old (60s-70s I think) pop song, but I can't for the life of me recall the title, or any of the words to the song. I was able to sketch up a sort of rough fake-book-style version (melody/chords) on a piece of staff paper, and "fake it" at the piano from that. Here's it is:

Anyone recognize it?

Hi. scriabinfanatic! It's the theme song for the movie "Valley of the Dolls", which I believe came out in the late '60's. It has a title, but I can't remember what it is.

OMG thank you Tim!!! It's been driving me crazy for days! I have a whole bookshelf full of fake books, and I was about to go thru them one by one, song by song. I wasn't even sure if it would be in one of them...but now that you told me what it was, I started looking at the indexes and found it in one of them -- "The Greatest Legal Fake Book of All Time"...and it's listed as both "Valley of the Dolls" and "Theme from Valley of the Dolls". Thanks! smile
