I've got a friend who needs to sell his approx. 5 ft Henry F Miller baby grand. He doesn't know how old it is. The serial number is 959101, but I can't find it in any look up sites. For what it's worth, next to the serial number is what I believe to be the model number--HMG063EP. Does anyone have any idea how old this piano is? And more to the point, assuming it's in good condition and has been well cared for, any idea how much he should be asking for it? Thanks for any help.

I believe if it is an original Miller piano, it would be quite old (say, 60 years??) otherwise, if it was purchased recently, IMO purchased new, it would be a Chinese made piano, maybe by Pearl River?? The serial number suggests that latter?

A friend of mine has an old Miller grand, probably 5'. I must say I don't like it very much...

Sorry, that's not very helpful!!

Perhaps try to get a little more info from your friend? Mainly did he purchase it new or not, once you know that, other info will be easier to get.

Yes, I had seen similar info such as that. Ivers and Pond, as well as Pearl River, had manufactured Henry F Miller pianos. I just can’t seem to find a place where my friend’s piano’s serial number can be found. The piano was a present from my friend’s parents to their grandchildren. He doesn’t remember when they gave it, but I suspect it was given new sometime in the last 10-20 years. Thanks for trying to help.
