Hi

Is anyone on here using Yamaha Smart Pianist? I'm looking to install it on an Android device and make an audio recording of the actual piano sound from a Yamaha P125.. however Yamaha have confirmed Smart Pianist will only be compatible with Clavinova CSP series models and with select Android devices.. does this mean my Yamaha P125 won't be compatible with Smart Pianist ? And potentially my android mobile device?

This says it is compatible but doesn't support all the features.

If you already have the P125 I'd give it a try. My Yamaha N3X has pretty limited SmartPianist functionality and even I'm able to do audio recording through the app.

Slightly off topic:

Does the MD-BT01 work with the SmartPianist app?
I just purchased this device, but it doesn’t ‘show up’ as an available device on my iPad (Bluetooth).

I don't know but the UD-WL01 definitely works with SmartPianist. I have that one on all the time.

Thanks, TS.

It does seem like it doesn’t work. Bummer!

As I understand it (now), the MD-BT01 is a Bluetooth adapter, but the app only shows a ‘connection wizard’ for WiFi.

I already have the P-515 connected to my device for Bluetooth audio (no adapter needed) and that works fine.

I’ll have to return it and buy the more expensive UD-WL01.

You could just use a (cheaper option of a) cable?

Yes, but I still need the camera adapter (iPad), right? Last I checked, it’s going for $40.00.
Is there a cheaper option out there?

Maybe not. I’ve been testing NU1X in stores, with my iPad (that has a lightning socket), using a USB cable and OTG cable. Both are cheap.

Could you please tell me your connection set up for recording audio in to Smart Piano.. as I've been trying to do the same for the past couple of days on my mobile device.. but it seems trying to record audio is a complexed issue from the P125 to Smart piano.. instead of an audio recording do you know if its possible to make a digital recording vie the USB to Host Port from the P125 in to an OTG cable???
