What other piano textures can I use?

As a pianist and composer I try to create interesting varying textures in my music. In my bagatelle, the piano is accompanying the bassoon and I was wandering what other kinds of "textures" or techniques I can use to vary up the music even more––even in just an accompaniment part.

Thanks in advance smile

I'd probably put two notes in the RH instead of the LH.

Maybe in the rising arpeggios RH you could have three rising notes and end on an octave instead of coming back down every time. You can also use this kind of idea to bring out prominent notes in the RH.

Look at what Ravel does in One Barque Sur l'Ocean. The way he uses "shapes" and patterns is always fascinating.
