If I type in www.pianoworld.com or just "pianoworld" which usually gets me there, I get "Database Error" and underneath,
"Error establishing a database connection"

I figured Piano World" was off-line for maintenance. Many hours later when this was still happening, I googled, "Is Piano World off-line?" in case it was being discussed somewhere. Instead I got hits for various discussions happening here. When I clicked on a link to discussions, I got in. That's what I've been doing ever since including now. Otherwise I can't get a connection. Since Saturday afternoon.

Am I the only one? I'm using Google Chrome, in case that matters.

Same happening for me. I type in pianoworld.com and get the Database error message. So I went to Google, searched for "Piano World forums" and got in that way. Also using Chrome in Windows 10, but then I tried Firefox and got "Error establishing a database connection."

Just noticed that when I do get in, if I click on "Piano World Home Page" I get the Database Error message. Is that a clue?

Marvelle, there's an answer for both of us. And CharlesXX. Yes, Chrome, Win10.

I have the same problem using Windows Explorer 11. There have been problems getting to the home page before this (there's an earlier thread somewhere about it) so I'm used to going straight to the forums when it happens.

Pete

I’m on Safari on an iPad Air. The shortcut takes me straight to the forum no problem. But if I click on the side bars, like find a professional I get the data error message.

www.pianoworld.com and forum.pianoworld.com resolve to two different IP addresses. If I had to guess there isn't any software connection between them other than links. They could be running on the same system or on separate systems. You can ping the the address so the system is up and the error appears to be from the web server that is hosting www.pianoworld.com.

I use forum.pianoworld.com. Actually, I have a link on my favorites to the ABF forum and go from there.
