torquenale - I will put you back on the wagon as of Sept 27, and add Sept 29-Oct 1 to your excused list.

wouldloveto - I know it gets very difficult after a hard day. Moyd only requires a few minutes a day, but I know from personal experience even that can be hard! I will put you back on the wagon Sept 30.

ClsscLib - I will add Oct 8-11 to your excused list.

Finfan - Oops! These things happen. I will put you back on the wagon as of October 13.

Casinitaly - I will add Oct. 13 to your excused list.

I have managed to play piano everyday, but I have been a bit short on quality practice. First, last week I developed a detached vitrous in my right (dominant) eye and can barely see out of it. Consequently I cannot read sheet music very well. Getting older is a real pain. Then, on a happier note, I adopted a rescue dog on Saturday. She is an absolute joy! I don't mind if she cuts into my practice time a little.

Please excuse me for today. I got carried away reading the threads. Ugh...

If that doesn’t count I understand.

Thank you!

SwissMS, congratulations on the addition to your family. My dogs are my regular practice companions and are helpfully uncritical!

The bulldog sometimes sings along, though.

PatrickBl - I will add Oct 15-17 to your excused list.

Terry Michael - I have lost a bit of time reading threads too! It is not an excused absence though. I will put you Back on the Wagon as of Oct 19.

ClsscLib - My new dog seems to like the sound of the piano. She goes to her bed and sleeps like a lamb!

Reporting on myself once more. Yesterday (Oct 19th) I was down with some sort of flu and was pretty much unable to function. Sitting upright on my piano bench was more than I could manage.

A lack of talent does not stop you from learning piano. It just takes longer and you have to work harder.

Here with a confession again - a wildly busy day where I went straight from the office to the parent/teacher meetings for my eldest, and then a dash to the city centre to go to the theatre (booked before I knew about the P/T meetings). By the time I got home I was too shattered to care about MOYD, though it would have been possible to do it.
Back on the wagon today please, SwissMs!

Please excuse for 10/25 through 10/28 for a trip to a northern state to visit my mother. She did ask how my piano lessons were going.

Stubbie, what was your answer?

Playing the piano is learning to create, playfully and deeply seriously, our own music in the world.

Missed yesterday (Monday 10/28) preparing for closing on purchase of new home today (we closed, and I managed not to kill any mortgage bankers, which was a win) and because of some unrelated family tsuris.

Back at it again tonight!

Thank you for asking!

I said, "Fine!"

When I get home from my piano lessons, Mr. Stubbie also asks me how my lesson went and I say, "Fine!" He accuses me of channeling the typical schoolchild response to their parent's question about how was school today. Answer: "Fine." (Then nothing more forthcoming.) cool

Like many adults, I wish I made faster and better progress. I did discuss some of this with my teacher a couple of weeks ago, and she assured me I was making progress. I do know I am making progress (I can feel it and hear it), but my goodness it takes work (this I know as well).

Finfan - I will add Oct. 19 to your excused list. I hope you are feeling better.

barbaram - I know how days like that can be! I put you back on the wagon Oct. 25.

ClsscLib - I will add Oct 24, 28 to your excused list. Congratulations on your new home!!

Stubbie - I added Oct 25-28 to your list.

casinitaly - I will add Nov. 1-2. Congratulations to your niece!

We have entered the painting stage of our remodel of our new home. My piano is wrapped up tightly in plastic for protection for the next few days, so I am off the bench for a while. Hopefully I will be have a few days after the painting is done to try to get a recording for the quarterly recital. If not there is always the next one!

Tried this morning, so I did play, but concentrating was rather a challenge!

Doris,

Put me on the excused list for Nov. 11th-15th. Family member in the hospital--but the good news is a full recovery!

Thanks for all your work on this thread.

Thanks SwissMs - I was improving, but have had a bit of a set back. I came home from work yesterday and just crashed. Sore throat, fever and generally feeling exhausted. No piano for me. A quiet weekend ahead but, I think there will be piano, so please excuse me for just 29 November.
