Congratulations on your 2 year mark. You are so thoughtful to gift your teachers.

Philip, how come?

I'm in year six as well ( but less then half that time under a teachers guidance ).

Tell us a little more about why it seems this way to you? It may be that it feels like it to you, but may not actually be the case!

No doubt you have many supporters here that can offer advice for getting out of a ' mental rut '

Maybe have a week or so where you do nothing but play pieces that that you know and enjoy...ones that you worked hard for, and now play with ease. Kind of an appreciation week, where you reflect on how far you've come smile

Still plunking away at it as well.
I have been with my teacher longer than any of his other students, although I am not the most senior in age. I am very far from the most accomplished!

1. I have no teacher.
2. I am too lazy to practice.

Retrogressing is not something to be sniffed at.

It is important not to be in stasis.

Would it even be possible to find an in-person teacher where you are? I suppose if you get out of your piano funk, you might need to find an Internet teacher. Getting a teacher would probably solve the second of the problems. You'd feel guilty with yourself if you had a teacher and didn't practice. If you think it over, you might realise the reason you don't get a teacher is because you know you would practice and you don't feel ready to do that.

But, you have some very nice pianos waiting for you when you finally feel ready! wink

That’ll explain the cause of the problem.

You'd better hop to it or Shadow will be sending your pianos to the firewood factory.
