Just realize Franz Liszt died on this day July 31st 1886! Here is my tribute to this great pianist-composer: his Mephisto Waltz No. 1.
When I first heard it at 12 years old, I was so intrigued by the opening harmony and the metallic attack of the recording I heard. And the sound in the slow section when the right hand added those shimering repeated notes, I couldn't imagine how the sound was created from a piano!
