Hmmmmm....so who exactly is the target market for the resonance piano? What purpose is it supposed to fill? If you’ve got room and money for a spruce soundboard, why not just get a nice acoustic piano? The two advantages I can think of is, no strings so no tuning and it uses any digital piano so there’s no regulation or voicing needed. But the spruce soundboard will require temperature and humidity controls and you just can’t easily move a big soundboard with the DP.
Very interesting. I’m curious where this product goes.

The bass sounds thin and odd. I would think a vertical arrangement would reduce the footprint and thus increase the market appeal. I bet it uses a fair amount of electric power.

Click on the link posted 3 posts above. It is a separate unit which can be used either horizontally or vertically with any (?) digital piano.

This is cool. Looks like they essentially turned a Kawai MP11 into a CS11 with a soundboard speaker. Neat idea - being able to have the portability of a keyboard when you need it but also have the resonance of a soundboard speaker when you don't.

Thank you for answering my previous questions.
Now I’ll ask a couple more.
So playing the digital piano using a spruce soundboard speaker can give the DP a closer to acoustic sound, but the other big attraction to playing acoustic is the pianos response to the pianists fingers. The feel of the hammers and the vibrations of the strings, soundboard, and rims. Other real pieces of the pianos’ response would still be missing. Or can they somehow digitally replicate that piece?
How would this resonance piano be categorized? A new, improved hybrid?

That's an interesting line of thought. I think by the time you recreated all of those things digitally, you would end up with something very much like an acoustic piano anyway. The Kawai K300 Aures comes to mind as a digital instrument that is capable of achieving those things, but only because it starts with an acoustic piano and adds digital functionality to it.

Except it would be missing the key attribute of an acoustical piano: strings.
