Pretty much what the title says - I figured that since I also plan to get a Genos, if I'm planning on getting something for more of a 'stage' presence (grand piano design) that also happens to double as a MIDI capable workstation (rhythms, arranger, etc) then getting a Clavinova would be sonically redundant for the most part.

What would you recommend? I'm thinking a Kawai CP-207 though Suzuki's DGP-4000TS looks good as well.

The Kawai CP1 is their latest model and has the Grand Feel action. Better choice if you can afford it.

Instruments: Current - Kawai MP7SE; Past - Kawai MP7, Yamaha PSR7000
Software: Sibelius 7; Neuratron Photoscore Pro 8
Stand: K&M 18953 Table-style Stage Piano Stand

Does it have all the rhythm control features and layering that the CP-207 does?

Employed by Kawai Japan, however the opinions I express are my own.

Why not Yamaha? What is the problem with Yamaha? I believe that a good CVP series would be the best choice for your needs. Also, I believe Kawai CP1 would be good but I never tried it because it is available only in the United States.

Because I feel like I'd be getting a lot of the same sounds I'd get from a Genos
