Hi All. I thought I would share with you guys the stand I've managed to make today. At first, I was planning to make it from wood, but my father had some steel leftovers and we decided it will be more stable. It's not painted yet, because we had only white paint appropriate for metal at home unfortunately.

Top frame and legs are made of square steel profile, 15x15mm, walls 2mm thick. Slots for legs are 20x20mm, same thickness. Legs are detachable. At first, we thought no additional holes and screws are needed to keep them in place, but finally we decided to weld nuts and thread them together with legs, so M6 screws can be used as pressure points to keep legs in place, for more stability. We also welded nuts to bottom of the legs, so rubber screw-in feet from an old washing machine can be used for some height regulation. I though we will have to add some stiffening currant to connect back legs at the bottom, but I was amazed how stable it is without it. What I have to do now is to paint it black and glue some rubber stripes to the top.

It's made for FP10, which white key surface is at 715mm, but can be used for other keyboards with flat bottom as well. Around 30mm height regulation is possible. Here is the effect:

Looks good. But is it stable? Have you tried pounding out a bunch of fff chords with both hands to see if it is rock steady?

It is stable, defnitely much more than any X or 2tier X-stand, or Hercules KB400 Z-stand I used to have. Not as stable as Grandstage ridiculous looking one though. When playing really hard, there is slight wobble side to side. Zero front-to-back wobble. I will add stiffening bar which should eliminate it completely.
