I realize the 605 is a few years old and has been superseded by at least one round of updates that presumably improved the details, but I can still buy one new at local stores and it has all the current technologies (PHA-50, SuperNatural Modelling, 3D Ambience, BT). So I consider it a relatively current, fairly high-end DP.

But they don't seem to be selling at what look like very good prices.

One has been for sale near me for two months at roughly half the new price (with some negotiation, including tax) - I thought it would sell quickly. And an eBay auction just expired (far away from me) with only 1 bid at the opening price of US$1350, a bit less than the one near me. Which makes me wonder if I'm missing something.

I'm considering the one near me but wondering what is reasonable? Do others know something I don't?

Thank you

PS. The prices paid shows only a couple sales several years ago when it was brand new.

Hard to tell. I don't know the US prices, but the HP605 has only few differences compared to the new HP704 (new cabinet design, perhaps slightly improved speaker system ?)
A price, let say 200/300$ below the price you can get a new HP704 is probably a good bargain.

IMHO, 1350 US$ seems to be a quite reasonable price. But, as said, I don't know the US market.
