How many of you have used or at least started with this method? Any good results? I've been told that this is the quickest way to learn keyboards as opposed to practicing scales first. For the record I'm interested in pop/rock/blues piano, not classical

Hi

By "Chord Piano" I take it you mean learning to play by understanding and/or playing chords?

Understanding chord structures was certainly fundamental to my playing.
It gave me a way in to starting to improvise, if nothing else.

But on its own I don't think it would have been enough, as I had classical lessons as a child (so my reading is pretty good) and have had Piano lessons with 2 professional Jazz Pianists.

I think if you define in more detail what you mean by "Chord Piano", and at what level your own playing is at, people will be able to give more informative replies.

Cheers

I started almost 3 years ago with this method. I have learned several instruments over the years, a chord program is similar to the guitar, start with chords, learn some licks to connect them and you're off.

I have no desire to learn classical either. And, I have advanced beyond anything I dreamed and learned Bohemian Rhapsody, started it on my second year anniversary.

I used a www.piano-play-it.com site. Accompany section to start, then books, you tube etc...

I have no affiliation to the site, found it on my early searches, and much of it is free!

Best of luck!
