It's Fun to Play the Piano ... Please Pass It On!
Hello, everyone! We made some wonderful wooden cabinet for Studiologic SL88 Grand in a grand piano style. Still some work in progress, but I hope, you'll enjoy:
By “we†do you mean you’re a company specialized in these cabinets? I suppose you manufacture the entire cabinet from scratch rather than using an existing grand piano. How much do you charge for such a cabinet? It really looks great!

Hello, CyberGene! No, this was enthusiastic private project just for my own use. When I say "we", I mean, that I only created and supported the project with money, ideas and materials and my friend, who is fond of joinery, awesome craftsman, made it at his home workshop. It took us nearly half a year, and now it is finally standing at my house! P.S. Yeah, it was made from scratch

Many thanks, guys!! Indeed, we were inspired a little by Novus and Avantgrand in the idea of digital grand piano and by Concert grands in terms of shape and curves! Unfortunately, the finish is not as ideal as in commercial instruments. Reaching smooth black polish with high gloss was the most difficult part of this project... Tried to shoot carefully, not to show some shortcomings)))
I hope it's okay to bring this thread up again after nearly two years... But I just have to say: That is absolutely amazing! Beautiful. More people have to see this. And aesthetically much nicer than the digital grands of Yamaha, Kawai and Roland.
Do you have speakers in the cabinet or headphones only? And: do you have any plans? I would love to built something like that myself.
Thanks for your words, eddiepiano! Sorry for long answer, but I believe, you already found me on youtube
About acoustic system: now I have yamaha HS5 simply staying on the cabinet, but they are, of course, not enough to produce adequate sound to imitate grand piano. Living in a flat, I prefer to use headphones most the time, so there are no plans to improve sound equipment. Though this cabinet have enough space to mount much complicated acoustic system inside (like Avantgrand or NV10 has). May be later, when living in my own house
