My local used piano store has got a Kawai NS10 selling for £3200 .It looks in great condition and I think the same height has the K500 ,so I'm hoping it's equally got a good tone has a K500 .
I don't know the age but the sales man said he bought it straight from the reconditioning factory in Japan. Also comes with a 3 year guarantee.
So for less than half price for a Kawai K500 I was wondering if this would be a good purchase

I think the NS10 was made in the early to mid 80s, so you're looking at close to a 35 year old piano. It was a decent piano when new, and it's hard to say what reconditioning means without having a tech look at it. Half the price of a new K500 seems a bit high to me.

It's probably from the 1980's. Get the serial number to verify the age. It should have a beautiful tone. It does not have the same action as the K500 - the Millenium III. As always, go play and hear the instrument to see how you like it. You don't give much information regarding your needs or current situation. Maybe you can negotiate a little more on the price. In the US it would be around the $2k range. I'm not sure of the prices in your area. Is the guarantee from the dealer or Kawai? It would be better from the factory, but either way it's good to have. Have a third party technician look it over to confirm it's condition. The polyester finish is very durable and can be buffed out to look brand new, which is great, but don't let that be the determining factor of it's condition.

Hello,
I had a NS 10 .

It ‘s a 120 cm height .
The K500 is a 130 cm

So you can’t compare them totally
As said before the action is different.

Length and texture of the keys differ as well.

You should try a K500 before making your decision.

The NS 10 could be compared to a K 300.
