Hello
I've connected my yamaha p-125 to my laptop via the usb-midi cable, and can play music from youtube through the piano - using the piano as sound output and play along to video tutorials- however, the sound cuts out after two minutes of playing and i have to reconnect the piano or reselect the piano as output device in my sound settings. Wondering if anyone has come across this problem. my laptop is running ubuntu 16.04.. haven't been able to connect via windows 10 .. thanks.

Did you install the driver on Windows 10?

Kind regards,

To anyone who might be reading this months later, I'd like to mention that I'm having the same problem, and there appears to be no known solution. While it would be possible to fix this with sufficient effort, it's very tempting to just get a pair speakers for the PC and be done with it.

Ah yes, this is because linux driver doesn't synchronize playback to internal clock of this sound card (piano), because its synchronization mechanism is seemingly not quite per USB audio class standard. (Hey, even just the playback function deviates from the standard enough for built-in windows driver not to recognize it at all...).

For some people, computer will end up sending sound samples ever so slightly faster than the piano plays them, and eventually, this overflows input buffer in the piano and that's when it goes silent.
