I'm advising a local music venue on upgrading their piano. Currently they have a very small 4'8 Chinese made Reid Sohn which they're finally looking to replace with something of higher quality. They have a budget of a maximum of £8k, and I've suggested looking at 2nd hand Yamahas, maybe an old, refurbished G1 or G2 (5'8 is probably the very largest the room could accommodate) which seems to fall into that price range when looking online. Are there any other obvious pianos we should be looking at that spring to mind?

What country are you in?

You're probably on the right track with a YAMAHA or KAWAI - you could probably get a good used "C" series for that sort of money - depending on your local market.

London, in the UK. C series instruments seem to go for a lot more than that unfortunately! Recently a G1 and C1 were in a local auction together, both in very similar playing condition, and the C1 went for about twice what the G1 went for. Do you have any particular Kawai models in mind that I should be looking out for?
