Darrell was the Quintessential Piano Technician. A gifted master craftsman who was kind, generous, and humble. I always enjoyed visiting with him and Heather, and our numerous conversations were a goldmine of information and joy. Darrell had been fighting illness for a while, and in our last conversation he was sounding better and was looking forward to getting back in the shop. That was 2 weeks ago, so i was shocked to learn of his passing. He greatly influenced me, and he will be missed. I'm sure he is Somewhere over the Rainbow.

I am saddened to hear this news. Del was highly respected internationally as a piano expert and designer. His profound wisdom about pianos was evident in his posts which were articulately written.
I offer my sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Robert, there is some confusion: Del is alive and well. The deceased is his brother

Thanks for your note.

I can imagine that it might become just a bit creepy, having so many people offer condolences. But, I'll hope that Del will be back soon.

I think I'm going to have to again overuse that expression from Mark Twain: "Reports of our death are greatly exaggerated."

Glad to hear it!
