Had to miss 7-9 through 7/12 (working in Boston) and 7/14 & 7/15 (playing in Chicago and driving home). The Chicago-area inn had a baby grand that I used for practice on 7/13 -- my kind of inn!

Please excuse me for July 20 - July 24 period. I had a fever from cold virus (yeah, during the hot summer :O) and was in no position to practice. I have been back on track in the last couple of days.
Yay, back to Bartok!

Please excuse me for July 8th and July 10th-27th. I was on summer vacation. I bought a portable keyboard to practice on especially for my vacation but should have probably anticipated that my wife would want me to herself during our travels in Europe. Anyways, I'm back today, the 27th, and have a ton of things to practice!

Anyways, I'm back today, the 27th, and have a ton of things to practice! Isn't it the 28th today, also in the US? Or have you mastered the fine art of time travelling?
Playing the piano is learning to create, playfully and deeply seriously, our own music in the world. * ... feeling like the pianist on the Titanic ...

Urg!!!! I had an out patient procedure done today (August 1st). I feel confident that nothing involving manual dexterity or coherent thought is going to occur. Please excuse this day.

Quick question: From reading the rules, being out of town or ill, puts one on the excused list, but what if a family member is ill? One of my family is currently seriously ill and her illness has prevented practice. Do I report the days missed caring for her as excused or back on the wagon? I’m really missing my piano time!
Thanks, Kathy

Please excuse me for 4-22 July, we were traveling. We did come across two pianos on our trip- one was horrifically out of time and the other was locked!

Had to miss Sunday, August 4 - working in and returning from NYC. Fortunately I was able to rent a practice room and get in some work on 8/2 and 8/3, so the trip wasn’t a total practice washout!
Back at it today.

Finfan - I will add Aug 1 to your excused list. I hope you are feeling recovered!
PianoCats - Caring for sick family members counts as excused as well. I will add Aug 5 to your list.
casinitaly - I will add July 4-22 to your excused list. I have played some of those out of tune hotel pianos, and begged to have locked ones opened. Always an adventure!
ClsscLib - I will add Aug 4 to your list.

Thanks SwissMs! I’ll send you some more dates when I get a chance to tally them up. If I could ask everyone here, please keep us in your thoughts, prayers and piano music.
Take care, Kathy

Please excuse me for the following dates:
- August 11: I'll have family in town and we are going on an all day/evening outing. I don't think I'll have access to my piano that day. - September 4 - 7: I'll be on a work trip.
Thanks!

SwissMs already excused you so you have your answer, but I would just add that (in my opinion at least) the fundamental distinction is "didn't play" vs "couldn't play". There's a certain amount of grey area of course, but this is an honour system anyway so the main thing is to be honest with yourself! And with that in mind, Please may I be excused for 11 July - 7 August, as I was away with no piano access However, I also missed 10 Aug due to being busy and not making the time, so please put me back on the wagon from 11 Aug
