Dearest Monica, I am saddened by your news. You have been such a vibrant force here on the ABF. I’m sure you are that way in your life as well. I will pray that hospice can keep you as comfortable and pain free as possible. Having just lost my BIL to cancer, his hospice experience, though short, was such a blessing at a terrible time.

May you be granted your wish of participating in the upcoming recital. I admire your strength and courage. May God be with you and your family on this journey.

Monica, I’m new here and I’m struggling with what to say. Yesterday, I watched some of your videos and I was touched by your playing. Thank you for sharing your music making with us.

I know that you will be surrounded by the love of your family and friends in the days ahead. I am reminded of this poem by Raymond Carver:

Late Fragment

And did you get what
you wanted from this life, even so?
I did.
And what did you want?
To call myself beloved, to feel myself
beloved on the earth.

Hi Monica, we may not know each other personally, but I would like to say I'm sorry to hear about all that you're going through. I've recently discovered new age music, and would like you to know that I enjoyed your playing on your YouTube channel of the David Nevue pieces. Also, you've inspired me to explore the music of Ludovico Einaudi. So thank you for sharing your love of music and piano with us, and I look forward to listening to your next recital piece.

Such sad news. You have left your mark on the forums and among the people who participate. If some day you should stop contributing, know that you will be missed.

Thank you for your courage in sharing such devastating news. Death has given you the second option of the 3 taps on the shoulder: I have come for you, now; I will come for you quite soon; I will come for you. but not for some time. You have taken the wisest course in spending your time in the highest way possible: sharing your love with friends and family and being loved in return. I admire your wisdom and courage and - I am sensing rather than being sure - a degree of acceptance of what, at some time, comes to everyone. There are always loose ends but, again, I sense that you have the wisdom to fill your life with living, not desperately trying to finish everything.

May your time be spent full of love, love which enriches you and your love which enriches your friends and family. When your interior light falters and fails your legacy of love will sustain those who loved you. Love is a good legacy to leave. If nothing else, be sure of that.

Hi Monica.Your many enthusiastic posts about Einaudi here were my introduction to his music, and I doubt that I'm alone! I've also been struck by how encouraging and giving you've been here over the years, and am sad to hear about your health. I wish you the best on your journey, and hope that it will be filled with love and meaning.

I don't have much to add that Mr. SH didn't already say so eloquently ...

We go back 14 years at this place ... That's a long time in Internet years! No one has been so unfailingly encouraging and supportive ... to PW, and to individuals. We've chatted so much about life, the universe, and the academic world we both share. Monica, you wrote the best book review I've ever received! Peace and grace at this difficult time for you and for your loving family.

Dear Monica,
My heart goes out to you. I cannot possibly imagine what you're going through but I admire the grace and courage with which you are living each day. Thank you for sharing your passion for piano and for Einaudi with all of us. Thank you for all you've done for this forum. I feel I've known you for 14 years as a fellow academic, piano lover, and adult beginner. May you continue to draw strength from the love of family and friends, as well as peace and joy from the music you make with your hands and heart. heart

In short, I have decided to decline further treatment efforts on the reasoning that I prioritize quality over quantity of time, and I would vastly prefer to spend the limited time I have left building memories with my loved ones

Focus on what you love most, good decision. Let me thank you for all your efforts you put in here, especially the organizations of the recitals. Best wishes !

Dear Monica,
I've barely been on the forums recently, and just saw this post today.
I am so saddened to hear your news. You've touched many of us here in PW, and you've made such a great contribution over all your years here. I would never have become so familiar with Einaudi were it not for you.

You will be sorely missed.

I wish you all the very best for the time you have remaining - may you be cradled in the love of your family and friends.

Dear Monica
I'm so very sad to read this update. I've been on holidays and this is my first time on the forum in over a month. Needless to say I hoped you would get better news. Thank you for sharing your update. Like many on this forum I have been touched by your warmth and wisdom for the 6 years I have been here. I hope you get to spend many more good days with your family and friends.
