A lot of the Mendelssohn Songs Without Words start with a slow intro like his Capriccio, but not nearly as long or as involved - just a few measures. I've done a bunch of the SWWs - they are very rewarding to play. But I don't think any of them are as dreamy and improvisatory as this.

Try this one (which I played for my Grade 5 exam, I think):

"I don't play accurately - anyone can play accurately - but I play with wonderful expression. As far as the piano is concerned, sentiment is my forte. I keep science for Life."

I like that. I have been learning SWW 19.2 for sometime. I find it a lot more challenging than 30.3 but beautiful.

I suspect I will learn numerous of the SWW.

Then there's this one, 53(2), which I like slower than it's played here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQ0KHaGiX9w
