Came up for sale locally this morning - initially thought there was a mistake regarding the price but it turned out everything is kosher - not a scratch on it, everything working, receipt and everything - for 240€ :-)
It is currently sitting in the back of my car and I'm looking forward to going home tonight and giving it a try.
What I really want is an acoustic so will probably end up selling it at a nice profit and putting that towards a used K200 or something along those lines.

Sounds like you stole it, and good plan using the profit for an acoustic!

I wonder what price you can get, im sure it will be much more than €240! smile

I ruined myself on digitals after having a K300 for half a year - nothing digital I have tried sounds or feels right after that.

I know!

No matter how many or which vst's i use, nothing compares to playing acoustic. I have mine for about 3/4 of a year now. Maybe a nv10 or avantgrand would kinda compare.. but these are way too expensive to me, for what they are.

Im still planning on sound isolation for the living room myself, so i can play acoustic more. Another option is sound proofing a room upstairs and put a (cheap or free) second acoustic in it. But i still need the digital option also for truely silent playing, and late night hours.

<understatement>This is surprising.</understatement>
Who would sell a current model piano for ~90% off the retail price?

You mentioned a receipt. I presume that was from the original purchase? What was the original selling price?

Wow, that's crazy!

Please post this in the "Prices Paid" thread - if nothing else, just to completely distort MacMacMac's statistical average. wink

Cheers,
James

I guess it was a stolen piano and they wanted to grab some money quickly.

Sorry, KJ. It won't affect the data. I only put sales of NEW pianos into the spreadsheet. smile

I hope this is not the case... I would feel very bad for the robbed person... New it costs about € 2200 (10x of what he payed)!

I went and picked it up at the guys apartment - he was obviously rather wealthy and had decided to be rid of the instrument on a whim because he was moving and the girlfriend didn't want the piano at their new place.
We called the store he bought it at together and had them email a copy of the receipt - nothing shady about this whatsoever - I happen to know the store in question.

Anyways - lucky me :-)

I shall not be poisoning the prices paid thread as this must be considered somewhat of an outlier :-)

And you are indeed correct that the original price - which was paid in may of this very year - was more than 10 times what I paid.

That's a real jackpot! shocked Lucky you, I'm envious! Also because you're gonna use it to purchase a K300 which is a terrific (hope I'm using the correct word this time) piano!

That's amazing! It's a shame they weren't getting rid of a K300, but you can't have everything...

Unless, she was a super model, that was able to bake cakes and cook the finest cuisine, had it been me, I know what I'd want in my new place... grin

He did mention that she was willing to have a grand piano at the place so I don't feel too sorry for the young, wealthy guy to be honest :-)

You could mention to him that it might be a good idea to get a K500 first, just to try an acoustic out for size, and then later upgrade to the grand.

Then, when he sells the K500, you could buy it from him. grin
