I share your joy BigIslandGuy. It took me 30 years and 7 other pianos to finally end up with my dream of a Model B. May it bring you many years of pleasure. My son lived out there for awhile. He loved it and said it was the most beautiful place he'd ever been but he struggled to earn a living and eventually returned to Texas.

Thanks George. I was really lucky to be in the right place at the right time to jump on this exceptional specimen. And yes, I agree this is an incredibly beautiful place to live, but also a hard place to live because good jobs are scarce and expenses are high. To make a decent living here, you have to have some sort of desirable skill set and perhaps be ready and willing to start your own gig. I got by with DSP software development because I could work remotely via the internet. If I was living on the mainland, I doubtless could be living in a bigger house and made way more money, but then, I would have been saving for Hawaii vacations instead of living here. When I lived here for a while as a teenager, this island grabbed hold of my heart and never let go. smile

So how is the practising going ? I hope well.
I try to do an hour 5 nights a week but I am afraid
I am not as consistent as I should be !
Have you started any Chopin yet ?
One day I hope to visit Hawaii it sounds like a
beautiful place.
Take care, LadyBird

Mahalo, Lady Bird. If you ever make it out our way, let us know! I'm biased of course, but yeah, to me it's the most beautiful place of all. smile That said, your neck of the woods is also beautiful.
Practice is going well, although I took a few days off for a long planned visit with some dear friends from here who have moved to Oregon. I was actually surprised however when I got back, that I was able to just pick right up with little loss and in fact, a kind of refreshed view of what I'm working on. Which brings me to your question on Chopin and the answer there is, yes, I'm working on his Nocturne op 48. It's a nice, relatively easy piece to learn a bit of the 'Chopin vocabulary' with and it's wonderful to play music that so beautifully exploits what this piano can do.

Mahalo(I hope that is correct !) BigIslandGuy,
That Chopin Nocturne op 48 ? I am not sure I know
which one that is.They are all wonderful. I do the
op9 no 1 in Bflat minor, an Eminor one (op posth),
of course the famous c sharp minor op post(my
husband's favourite )and a few others.I used to do
one of the Scherzo's.(Bflat minor)
Yes I think it is great really exploring that wonderful piano
with this kind of music !
Yes I can almost smell the sea and the flora and fauna
just thinking about Hawaii! .
Keep the Bach going too.Every morning play some Bach
to start the day.Pablo Casal the great cello player started
his day by playing Bach every morning he believed it
was a blessing on his home.
Best Regards,LadyBird.
