Here is a short story:
After 1.5 months of barely my KAWAI MP7SE, this keyboard started to fail. I contacted KAWAI and the store mentioned that it will take care of by the warranty. KAWAI US sent me the address for the person who is the repairman and asked me to drop the keyboard there.
The store, I bought my keyboard from, also mentioned the same person and asked me to drop the keyboard in the store and they will send it to the same person.
Since my work was really close to the repair guy, I decided to listen to KAWAI's email and drop the keyboard at the repair guys house. He gave me a card...
After a week, my keyboard was ready. I went and grabbed the keyboard and there are scratches and scuffs on the body and side panels.
I contacted KAWAI immediately, sent them the pictures and they said they will exchange the keyboard.
I am extremely worried. It seems KAWAI is not the brand which is being advertised here. Nor its warranty. The exchange policy mentions that they will change it with a refurbished keyboard.
My case is very different! I purchased my keyboard brand new! how come KAWAI wants to change it with a refurbished keyboard which it's not even clear how long it's been used?
The repair person damaged my keyboard! KAWAIUS initially told me that they can replace the panels and the metal case!!!! My response was in order to replace these parts, one should disassemble the whole keyboard and screw every button and part back. This will not be going to be the same keyboard!!! and I rejected it. Now I'm worried about this level of inconsistency, I might receive a keyboard which is assembled in a basement from other keyboards parts.
How can I make sure that KAWAIUS is not going to send me a demo unit? How can I make sure that what is being exchanged is at the same level of functionality?
I am very disappointed and I am very worried. I do not like the way KAWAI US is approaching this case and I cannot trust them whatsoever.
