I saw a video lesson of English jazz pianist, where he claims that "So What" is not related to funk, and does not contain nothing of the funk feel. I strongly disagree with him, but it is interesting to hear the opinions of others.

To my shame, I heard today for the first time. It is interesting that reminds of "Frankenstein" by Archie Shepp; and the last piece of album - the live concert of Gil Evans with Sting.
I was interested in this version where there are practically no changes and adaptations in the melody :
