Does anyone have any inside info or direct knowledge about these piano dealers in the following areas:

Asheville NC: Freeburg Pianos

Rock Hill SC: Marshall Piano Co

AdoptABabyGrand.com (I believe he's near Columbia SC)

Case Brothers Piano (Spartanburg SC)

Are there any other dealers in Charlotte NC or Columbia SC you would recommend?

And just FYI, I am shopping for a used grand piano, nothing high end. I live in a fairly inconvenient location for piano shopping and any of these dealers is an hour or more drive from me, so I haven't visited any of them yet but I hope to soon. (Also sorry for the multiple threads, I thought it best to keep them topical)

Thanks in advance for any comments/info!

Oh great, now I want a M&H BB. Thanks a lot!
j/k!!

Thanks for posting this video, Jeff! Well, at the very least I'm sure Freeburg is a reputable dealer. Whether they have any pianos that I can afford is a separate issue! grin

Still, it looks like they have a wide range of types of pianos, and I like the fact that they list the serial numbers for the used instruments (I don't get all the secrecy some sellers do re the info they share, or don't share, online.)

I will try to make the drive there soon. (And as the video shows, it is lovely to drive into Asheville, we're overdo for a visit!)

Asheville is a nice town! My folks had a cabin in Maggie Valley, so I spent a lot of time there when I was a kid.

I was at Freeburg's - very nice piano's and (mostly) not crazy expensive. I will definitely go there when I am ready to move up. I also like Miller PIiano in Charlotte, lot's of Kawai's and Yamaha's - and a good selection of used upright's when I was there. There is also Marshall's in Rock Hill if you want a nice used. I wasn't keen on the Greenville SC stores although I saw Steinway recently opened in Greenville (have not been there myself yet).

Progman, thanks for chiming in! I don’t know why but I had missed Miller’s, I’ll add that to my list.

There are three (I think) piano stores in Greenville, but they all seem the close around lunch time on Saturday and are not open on Sunday, which is a huge hassle for me since a weekday is pretty much out and by the time we get in the car and on the road on a Saturday, they'll be closed when we get there. Apparently the Steinway store is connected to the one in Charlotte, and they’re not open yet. I don’t know if they will have much non-Steinway there (if they’re open on Saturday afternoons, I’ll find out!) but I’m not really in the market for a Steinway.

Anyway, right now my list of dealers to visit is Freeburg, Miller and Marshall, now to try to figure out when to make the drive. (Sometime when storms aren’t in the forecast!)
