I recorded this video. I used Pianoteq with my FP7 connect to my iMac.

Nice playing, Serge. I enjoyed it!

Would you mind posting pics/screengrabs of your "Effects" settings and "Equalizer" settings?

I just emerged from 6 months in Pianoteq heck, trying to get my Pianoteq Stage to sound like a piano, when a thread appeared here about the upgrade 6.5. The opinions there were that the Steinway D, which I use, had been greatly improved So, I installed it, and am now back where I started. I hate the sound (it seems they tried to cure the metallic overtone in the tenor my just severely muffling the sound, as if the piano were encased in a 20 foot thick cocoon of foam and sound deadening materials.

I like the sound of your piano, and, I see that you are using "Stage." So, I am hopeful that your settings might help me. Right now, I am terribly worried that I might, again, miss 6 months of practice fighting with Pianoteq trying to get an acceptable sound. Any help would be appreciated.

Again, I enjoyed listening to your playing, and, your piano. Nice work!

In the post above, the forum changed my word, "he.l" to "heck"! I am very surprised by this, and somewhat disappointed.

That got perpetrated on me, too. "Disappointed" is the safe word to use..."jawdropped" and "PO'd" more appropriate for me. Sometimes have to wrestle with the thing to say what I want!

Nice playing BTW OP. [/rantconcur]

Sure, tonight when I get home, I'll post a pic of Pianoteq.

Thanks everyone, this is my last rehearsal before my teacher's recital. I hope I can keep the same performance in front of an audience !

What bothers me with Pianoteq everytime, is the higher velocities.

It's all right (bearable) in the lower velocities, but when you start banging the keys somewhat, there's something unnatural about the sound.

Despite my harsh words about Pianoteq, great playing.

No mention (or notice?) of use of Pianoteq 5? No experience of it (before my time) but supposedly 6--and especially 6.5--is way superior.

Well played & paced Serge. Good luck with your recital - I'm sure you'll do well. Bit of trivia people here may or may not know, this Beethoven melody was the basis of the chorus to the Billy Joel song 'This Night' from his album 'An Innocent Man' (at the 00:58 mark).

Billy's a big Beethoven fan, and credited him in the liner notes for this song:

You're right, I can hear some similarity.

So he couldn’t come up with his own chorus and decided to took the melody and chords from a Beethoven sonata instead smile I know Billy Joel is a good musician, so let’s just call this a cheesy moment in his career smile

Incrementally superior. I still like the 4.5 version of D4 when using it to record. But not to play.
