It might sound funny, but my first digital piano Roland LX 705 just arrived to shop. I know transportation probably isnt as complicated as with acoustic upright that i own, but how fragile are this things? I have an option to wait for 4 weeks to have it delivered to new apartment (im in a process of moving, not very far or something) or to have delivered now, which means i would have to move it myself in 1 month.
Can you put it in car, drive safely and normally and its gonna be ok? Might sound stupid, but having been an owner of acoustic pianos only so far i really dont know much about digital pianos and transport. (:

If the store drop it, they pay. If it were a stage piano or portable, I'd say go for it. For the size of a cabinet piano, you'd need at least 3 or 4 people to lift that 74 Kg piano safely, and a removal van with lift. You'd want the thing covered in thick cloth and you'd need to use a piano lifter: Best of luck, Doug.

I don't see how you'd fit a piano this big into a car. You'd need a truck or van.
As for carrying it ... use great care. That's all.
When I bought my Kawai upright long ago the delivery was done by two strong men. The piano weighed 560 pounds. Years later when I donated it two strong men handled it. In each case ... Lift onto dolly. Roll it as much as possible. Then more lifting.
That's way more than two of me could possibly do. But the mere 150 to 200 pound weight of a digital would be no problem for two people.

I’m would ask if it’s still unpacked in original box or boxes and maybe pallet. Then depending on your patience, transport available and helping buddies decide from there.

My piano will arive in 2 parts, so i suppose it could be moved the same way. Do you think that would still be too big for a car?

Well, what sort of car? Most cars it’s likely too big including the packaging. Sometimes packaging sizes are available or you can just ask the store or dealer. Do you have access to a trailer or pickup, just for the one shot?

Sorry to hijack the thread, but whats the deal with shipping something like this overseas? It's the only thing putting me off investing in something bigger and better than what I have now

Overseas shipping is tricky. And it depends on the country of origin and on the destination. If you're buying new from a dealer that ships overseas ... it's a little less complicated. But be prepared to pay import duties. If you are the shipper it gets very complicated. In either case you have to deal with the power requirements of the piano vs. the power available at the destination. And you might have no warranty. This has been discussed here many times before ... so search the spreadsheet for prior threads on the subject. It can be found here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1_ax7Q3Bn4Zmm1ZHjeD4zLxbpCX8y5cQw/viewThe conclusion has been: don't do it.

The guys that bought my CA98 used a normal Mercedes wagon. They transported it on its back and it sure was a tight fit to get it in the trunk but that’s what they did. I think they had like 2-3 cm to spare on the width.
I would never have transported it like that though. Always in a standing position, you never know what happens otherwise...

That must have been a huge trunk if they managed to fit the entire keyboard in trunk! I would have to put backseat down and even the co-passangers seat to get in my car.

A normal wagon trunk the back seats were folded of course.
